Annual General Membership Meeting, Wednesday, NOV 12, 7-9PM

The annual general membership meeting of the Somerset Recreation Club (SRC) will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 7-9 PM in the Sacred Heart Center (Ackerley Room) on the campus of the Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart (FRS). Bob Becker of Becker Architects will attend to present information on the SRC/FRS partnership to renovate the entire facility. We will also review the past season of the Rec Club, elect new board members and allow time for questions and answers. We would love to see you all there!

Casino Night w/ Silent & Live Auction, July 12, 6PM - Mardi Gras Theme!

Join us for our Annual Casino Night and Silent Auction, July 12th at 6 PM! Enjoy a fun-filled night with something for everyone including gambling tables, music, food & drinks, prizes, and a Silent Auction.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. We are currently looking for Event Sponsors at various levels as well as ten table sponsors at a level of $100 each. Join us on June 27th for our Swim-O-Rama! Swim-o-Rama is a Swim Team sponsored fundraising event open to all swimmers to support the Somerset Rec Club (SRC) Swim Team. Participants swim as many laps as they can for 30 minutes on Friday evening during their scheduled time. Each participant gathers pledges from family relatives, friends, neighbors to give an amount per lap OR a flat amount. Afterwards, participants enjoy a complimentary champions hot dog dinner. Triathlon Training Clinics

Thinking about training for a triathlon this summer? Whether you've got your eye on the Seafair or Issaquah Tri, the swimming portion of a triathlon can be the most challenging part of the race. Whether you're a beginner training for your first triathlon, or have experience but are looking to swim more efficiently on the open water, you'll learn how to dive in with confidence. Join us for this special triathlon training series, designed for the novice to mid-level triathlete. Clinics will be 2-hour sessions held over three separate Saturday mornings. Spring Practice / Stroke & Turn Clinic Schedule

The Spring Practice Schedule has been set and is ready for you to review HERE! Additionally, the Pre-Season Stroke & Turn Clinic has been set with Coach Kyle Johnson! Coach Kyle Johnson has over 20 years of National Level Coaching success in the Pacific Northwest. Coach Kyle has defined a style of coaching and has created a technical training curriculum that has driven the development of Olympic Trial Qualifiers, NCAA Championship Qualifiers, USA Senior National Finalists, Junior National Finalists and Ironman Qualifiers. He collaborates with world – renowned physiologists, physical therapists, human development and programming experts to guide swimmers of all ages to experience healthy, reliable, and process–driven success. Potential Forest Ridge Partnership

We'd like share some exciting news as discussions are underway with Forest Ridge to pursue a potential partnership that would refurbish the Somerset Rec Club. As we are still very early in the planning process, we’d like to address many of the questions that have arisen in recent weeks. We will be providing periodic updates via email as well as on the Forest Ridge Update Page. Please stay tuned as developments unfold.

General Membership Meeting

The 2013 annual general meeting of the Somerset Recreation Club (the Club) will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Newport High School, Bellevue, Room #1113. This meeting is open to all 2012-2013 members of the club. The Board of the Club encourages all members to attend this meeting. We will elect new Board members, revise our by-laws to expand our Board, review our financial position and discuss our operational and strategic plans. The incoming Board members put to vote for your approval are Jeff Coopersmith, Lisa Brandli, Rick Gratzer, Melanie Sprague, Stephanie Kristen, Michael Ketchum, and Ellen Murphy. It is also your opportunity to ask questions and bring your concerns and issues to the Board. It is important we have a quorum to elect Board members and revise our by-laws so please be sure to attend.

Pool Closed for Season

The Club will close for the season on September 3, 2013. Please join us on Monday, September 2 for the last day of the year. The weather promises to be gorgeous!

Awards Night

Come join us on July 21st as we celebrate the successes of our wonderful Somerset Swim Team! There were seven Midlakes records broken at League Champs Saturday: Two (100 IM and 50 Fly) were broken by Somerset swimmer, Lorea Gwo. Please bring a dessert to share! We will collect cash dontations for the Coaches up to the awards ceremony.
