Tennis Lessons
- Tennis lessons are offered for both men and woman by the SRC tennis pros.
- The lessons will focus on improving your game and having fun!
- Register at the club office.

$80 - $110 (2 weeks, Monday - Thursday)

Somerset Tennis Rules
- The courts are for use by
members. Guests may use the courts if they are playing with a member,
have paid the guest fee and follow the policy regarding guest
information.
- Only soft-soled, non-marking
shoes may be worn on the courts
- Water is the only beverage
allowed on the court. No food is allowed.
- No foul language shall be
allowed on the courts.
- Anyone refusing to obey the
regulations is subject to removal from the premises. Tennis privileges
may be suspended for any infraction of the rules. For cases of repeated
violations, the Board may take additional action.
- If court availability becomes
a serious problem, restrictions on the amount of individual, family and
guest play will be provided.
- Members who are delinquent in
payment of any dues, fees and/or assessments will be refused admittance
to the facilities.
- Cost of damage to club
property by members or members’ guests will be charged to the
responsible member.
- All members are responsible to
report to the Board or staff anyone who directly or indirectly does
damage to the facilities or endangers the safety of others.
Reservations
- Reservations may be made in
person or by phone.
- Reservations may be made up to
one week in advance and no later than one hour in advance.
- Only one reservations per
member may be on the books at any one time. Therefore, a second
reservation may not be made until play has been completed on the first
reservation.
- First and last names of all
participating players must be listed.
- Members are obligated to
cancel the reservations if they cannot meet their scheduled commitment.
- Court reservations are on a
first-come, first-serve basis. Neither coaches nor individual members
have priority. Club tennis instructors and coaches will book courts for
lessons just as members do for their court usage.
- Adult (18 and older) only
reservations are available from 5 – 9 pm weekdays. However, children
may walk on if no adults are playing. Adults who also walk on may bump
them.
- Parent/child play is
considered adult play.
- At the discretion of the Club
Manager, full-time employee non-adults may be allowed to play during
adult hours.
Schedule
- Singles: maximum one hour
play. Doubles: maximum two hour play.
- Back-to-back play is not
allowed if there are players waiting. The reservation book designates
court change.
- Rights to a court are
relinquished if players are not on the courts by ten minutes after the
reserved time.
- All players must sign in at
the pool office
Ball Machine
- Ball machine (including
practice balls) is available for rental.
- A member may reserve the
machine in advance. Court time must also be reserved with the ball
machine.
- Children using the machine
must have adult supervision.
- Rental fee is paid, in
advance, at the pool office.
- Each member is responsible for
picking up all of their balls and returning the machine and balls to the
storage area.
- There is no provision for
non-member individual usage of the ball machine.
Tennis Lessons
- Fees are to be paid prior to
the start of lessons at the pool office.
- Private lessons are scheduled
by the tennis coach on the same basis as regular court reservations.
Actual court reservations are made only when a confirmed lesson has
been scheduled.
Court Etiquette
- A copy of court rules and
etiquette is available in the pool office.
- When the ball goes into the
adjacent court, wait until the point on that court is over before
requesting/retrieving the ball.
- When entering or leaving, do
not go across a court until play on that court is completed.
- Racket abuse (especially
striking the court surface) is not allowed.
- Trash shall be picked up and
disposed of properly.
